Nine Indonesian citizens (WNI) volunteers for the 2026 Global Sumud Flotilla have finally been released after previously being detained by the Israeli army.
One of the volunteers, Rahendro Herubowo, then shared his testimony regarding the situation experienced during detention. He described the conditions as quite tense along with the other volunteers.
Heru revealed that he experienced physical violence while being detained. He said he was kicked several times in the front of his body, stepped on from behind, and suffered an electric shock.

“I experienced violence, being kicked maybe three or four times in the front, being stepped on behind me, and finally being electrocuted,” said Rahendro or Heru, quoted from the website detikcomThursday (22/5/2026).
Until now, Heru still feels pain in his upper waist and chest. He also said that the pain was worse when he coughed or raised his hand.
“So now, if I cough and I’m sick, I’ll pull here, raise my hand and pull. Hopefully there’s nothing, we’ll check here, if there’s still a further examination here at the Indonesian Hospital, we’ll check again,” he explained.
9 Indonesian volunteers arrived in Istanbul after being released
Rahendro said that currently he and other volunteers are undergoing a medical check-up. They have just taken blood and will continue the medical consultation.
“Give thanks now we are here medical examination “I just finished taking blood, so we want to consult,” he said.
Meanwhile, another volunteer, Andre Prasetyo Nugroho, also shared his experience. He admitted that he experienced violence during his detention, including physical torture.
“I was electrocuted here (knee-thigh). Because of the last part of the cave, our heads had to be like this (kneeling, hands behind us, head on the floor). I couldn’t stand it anymore,” said Andre.
A total of nine Indonesian citizens (WNI) who became volunteers for the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) have arrived in Istanbul, Türkiye. Currently, they are with the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Istanbul.
“The Indonesian Consul General in Istanbul is currently together with 9 Indonesian volunteers who are members of Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0. I am also happy to be able to communicate directly with my volunteer friends via video call,” said the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sugiono, via his Instagram account @menluri.
“The Indonesian government will continue to ensure that the process of returning all Indonesian citizens to their homeland runs smoothly and they can arrive back safely and as soon as possible,” he continued.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
