From Village to Palace — Farel Prayoga’s Inspirational Journey

His name went viral after appearing at the State Palace on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. At that time, Farel performed the song Ojo Dibandingke with confidence – even though he was still 12 years old. His distinctive and twisted dangdut-kampung voice immediately stole attention, even making the atmosphere of the national ceremony feel lively.

Since then, this boy from Kepundungan Village, Srono District, Banyuwangi has gone from a small busker to one of the most respected young names in the dangdut music scene. Full name: Farel Prayoga — born on August 8, 2010.

Voices Change, Spirit Never Dies

Entering his teenage years, Farel admitted that he experienced a change in his voice – a normal phase for teenagers. However, he did not remain silent. Farel continues to maintain a healthy lifestyle, does regular vocal training and remains consistent in his work. Not just staying in his comfort zone: Farel started experimenting with genres. He stated that he wanted to produce work that was more varied, not just traditional dangdut – but also campursari and modern nuances so that it could be accepted by many groups.

Recent Work & Ongoing Career

Towards 2024–2025, Farel returns with a new work. He released a Javanese single entitled Dudu Aku – a nostalgic song that is said to be inspired by a true story. Not only relying on dangdut, he also showed the courage to take on different projects. For example, at the end of 2024 he was asked to perform an old pop song by legendary musician Fariz RM — the song Cakrawala Senja. This challenge made him nervous, but in fact, he managed to show his vocal capacity – even receiving direct appreciation from Fariz RM himself. Not just a viral little singer, but a figure who continues to grow — from the street stage, to the State Palace, to professional recording studies.

The year 2025 brings challenges to Farel’s personal life. His father, who used to accompany his musical journey — was reportedly involved in an online gambling case. This news attracted great public attention and invited widespread sympathy. However, Farel responded to it maturely. He remains focused on music and education, trying to maintain his integrity amidst controversy. It’s not easy, but his determination and focus actually show that behind great talent there is also great responsibility.
