Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy M56 5G in mid -April 2025 in India, marking the presence of the third smartphone from this year’s Galaxy M Series. This smartphone is the successor to the Galaxy M55 5G which was launched a year before, offering a significant increase in design and specifications.
Thin and premium design
The Galaxy M56 5G is claimed to be the thinnest and lightest smartphone in its class, with a thickness of only 7.2 mm and a weight of 180 grams. As stated by Samsung, this design provides comfort in the grasp of the user without sacrificing quality. The metal frame used, equipped with Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection on the front and back, gives the impression of premium and high durability. In a comparison with the Galaxy M55 5G, which has a thickness of 7.8 mm, the Galaxy M56 5G managed to cut the thickness of 0.6 mm.
This phone is supported by a 6.7 -inch Super AMOLED+ screen with Full HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixel) resolution. This screen offers a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness levels up to 1200 nit, so the display remains sharp and clear in the sun. The Infinity-O Display design also adds to the appeal, where the 12MP selfie camera is well integrated at the top of the screen.
Sophisticated camera system
On the back, the Galaxy M56 5G is equipped with a camera module that carries three lenses: the main camera 50MP with f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS), 8MP ultrawide camera with f/2.2 aperture, and 2MP macro cameras with f/2.4 aperture. With the ability to record video up to 4K 10-bit HDR, this smartphone targets users who want high-quality photos and videos.
Tough performance thanks to exynos 1480
This phone is powered by the Exynos 1480 processor, based on 4nm fabrication. The processor offers an Octa-core configuration with four cortex-a78 cores and four cortex-a55 cores, providing optimal performance for various tasks, including gaming and multitasking. Galaxy M56 5G comes in two RAM variants, namely 8GB with 128GB and 256GB of internal storage options. Unfortunately, this device does not provide slots for memory expansion through microSD.
Battery life and software update
Regarding durability, 5G Galaxy M56 is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging through the USB Type-C 2.0 port. In addition, this device runs the One UI 7 operating system based on Android 15 and offers software updates for the next six generations, as well as security updates for six years. However, this smartphone is only equipped with mono speakers and does not have IP certification for water and dust strength.
Price and availability
Galaxy M56 5G is available in two attractive colors: Light Green and Black. In the Indian market, the prices offered are as follows:
- 8GB/128GB variant: ₹ 27,999 (around Rp5.5 million)
- 8GB/256GB variant: ₹ 30,999 (around Rp. 6.1 million)
Official sales began on April 23, 2025 through Amazon India and Samsung India’s official website, with a launch offer in the form of a discount of ₹ 3,000 for transactions using credit cards and bank debit and debit.
