As part of an effort to increase community understanding of geotourism, the Indonesian Geotourism Guide Association (PGWI) Gunung Sewu, chaired by Suryo Perment, collaborated with 107.1 Gentang FM. Presenting a special program titled PGWI Gunung Sewu Radio Talkshow. The program will be broadcast in premiere on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, starting at 19:00 to 21:00 WIB through live broadcasts on Instagram @gaksikfmofficial and terrestrial broadcasts at the frequency of 107.1 FM Gentara FM.

Get to know PGWI and Geotourism Mount Sewu

In this first episode, the talkshow will raise the main topic Get to know PGWI and Geotourism Mount Sewu. Through this discussion, the listener will gain in -depth insight into the role of PGWI in the development of geotourism in the Gunung Sewu area, which has been recognized as a global geopark by UNESCO.

PGWI (Indonesian Geotourism Guide Association) itself is an organization that focuses on improving the quality of geological -based tour guides. With this talkshow, PGWI Gunung Sewu wants to educate the public about the importance of geological conservation, ecotourism, and economic opportunities that can be developed through geotourism.

As a community radio based in Wonogiri, Central Java, 107.1 Gentara FM is the right medium to spread information about Gunung Sewu’s geotourism to the wider community. With live broadcasts through Instagram and radio frequency, this talkshow is expected to reach more listeners, both from academics, tourist actors, and the general public who are interested in the potential of natural tourism.
