Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Roy Suryo, re -emerged controversy with his statement regarding the alleged falsification of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi’s) diploma. In a podcast on YouTube hosted by Refly Harun, Roy Suryo clearly stated the results of the analysis stating that 99.9 percent of Jokowi’s diplomas were fake. This statement immediately triggered a negative reaction and debate in the public, questioning the credibility of a country leader.
Roy revealed that suspicion of the authenticity of Jokowi’s diploma began to appear last April, when PSI cadres, Dian Sandi, published a photo of the diploma. Since then, the team led by Roy Suryo conducted an in -depth analysis. They found a number of irregularities in the diploma documents circulating, such as the color differences in the logo of Gadjah Mada University (UGM), clear photographs of photographs, and faculty stamps that were not in accordance with the supposedly standards.
“We found a very strong initial indication in the photo of the diploma,” Roy said, emphasizing that high photo resolution was unusual for documents published in the 1980s. He also noted that the photo on the diploma was not synonymous with Jokowi’s face, with similarities under 50%. Strangely, the photo actually has a similarity of 89% with a person named Dumatno, who added speculation about the truth of the diploma.
Roy Suryo asserted that the alleged diploma forgery was not carried out when the diploma was supposed to be issued, but allegedly occurred after 2010. This shows that there was a structured effort to falsify education documents. In addition, the authenticity of Jokowi’s thesis is also in the spotlight. Roy recorded differences in the type of paper and deficiencies in the thesis testing and doubts about the signature of the lecturer listed, Prof. Ahmad Sumitro.
Furthermore, Kasmujo, called Jokowi as his thesis supervisor, denied the claim, stating that he was only an academic supervisor, not a thesis supervisor. Inconsistencies and irregularities in information about Jokowi’s real work lecture (KKN) further strengthens questions about the track record of the President’s education.
In his search, Roy Suryo even revealed information related to the Scout Market in Jakarta, which is thought to be the location of making fake documents. According to information obtained, an academic named Professor Paiman was once involved in the practice. Roy also mentioned that there was a recognition from a party cadre who asked Jokowi not to make a fake diploma.
“Although there is a common thread that links Jokowi with this alleged counterfeiting, it is important for the authorities to make a transparent clarification,” he said.
Meanwhile, although Roy and his team have been invited by the Jakarta Metropolitan Police to provide information related to fake diploma reports, they were not present for reasons suggested by the attorney. On the other hand, the Ulama and Activist Defenders Team (TPUA) is uncomfortable with the handling of this case and has reported Dirti TPidum to Propam.
The legal process that runs seems to invite dissatisfaction, with the insistence to increase investigation at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police. Roy Suryo hopes that all findings will be followed up by the legal apparatus neutrally. He stressed the importance of the highest leader’s integrity for this nation.
“This case is closely related to the honesty of a leader,” Roy said, emphasizing his hopes of a transparent court. The case of falsification of this diploma becomes an issue that continues to roll, waiting for the settlement and clarification that can influence public trust in Jokowi’s leadership. The public is also waiting for answers from the authorities regarding the status of this question mark.
